NAF El Centro Air Show 2025

 

 

click photo to enlarge		 I had known for a long time that the Navy Blue Angels practice in the winter in El Centro from January to March. So in 2023 I booked a campsite 3 miles from the Air Base thinking we would see them practice and we did. It was the coolest thing to be eating breakfast and looking out at the Blue Angel's practicing. While we were there I learned that at the end of their practice season they put on a free air show for people who live there putting up with their noise all winter. So in 2024 and 2025 we booked a campsite the weekend of the air show.

click photo to enlarge		 Since the air show and parking are free we got tickets to the executive chalet. You then have seats right on the flight line and catered food and drinks all day long.  Our neighbors down the street have joined us the last 2 years and some of their friends. I think in 2026 we may have about 20 people. It has been a real fun time. Karen and I also get a campground in Borrego Springs before we go to El Centro to see the desert wildflowers.
