Pioneertown, California, is a quirky and charming Old West-style village located in the Morongo Basin near Joshua Tree National Park. Founded in 1946 by a group of Hollywood investors, including actors Gene Autry and Roy Rogers, it was originally built as a live-in movie set for Western films and TV shows.

The town’s rustic, false-front buildings and dusty streets were designed for filming while also housing cast and crew. Today, Pioneertown attracts visitors with its vintage charm, offering unique experiences such as live music at Pappy & Harriet’s Pioneertown Palace, a renowned roadhouse known for its iconic performances.
