Buckskin State Park

Buckskin Mountain State Park is one of our favorite places to camp along the Colorado River, and we've enjoyed staying here on two different trips. We love the striking contrast between the deep blue water, the rugged mountains, and the surrounding Sonoran Desert. It's a beautiful setting that offers spectacular sunrises, sunsets, and plenty of opportunities to relax or explore.

Arizona State Parks have consistently been some of our favorite campgrounds. The campsites are spacious and well maintained, the facilities are clean, and the parks are always beautifully cared for. Buckskin Mountain State Park is no exception, making it an excellent destination whether you're planning a weekend getaway or a longer stay.

Just a few miles away is the small town of Earp, California, named after legendary Old West lawman Wyatt Earp. History enthusiasts may want to stop by the modest cottage where Wyatt Earp and his wife Josephine lived from 1925 to 1928.

The nearby town of Parker, Arizona, has everything you'll need during your visit, including grocery stores, fuel, restaurants, shopping and of course a casino. Whether you're spending your days boating on the river, hiking the desert trails, or simply enjoying the peaceful scenery from your campsite, Buckskin Mountain State Park is a wonderful place to experience the beauty of the lower Colorado River.
