Goffs Schoolhouse is a restored one-room schoolhouse located in the remote Mojave Desert along historic Route 66 in eastern San Bernardino County, California. Built in 1914, it once served the children of railroad workers and miners in the tiny community of Goffs, which sprang up along the Santa Fe Railway. Today, the schoolhouse stands as a well-preserved reminder of early desert life, showcasing period furnishings, photographs, and exhibits that reflect education and daily living in the early 20th century. Its quiet setting and historical significance make it a meaningful stop for Route 66 travelers and anyone interested in the region’s pioneer past.

We belong to the Harvest Host camping program that allows us to camp in some pretty unique places. I just loved camping at Goff's because there were no other campers there other then 2 or 3 people who stay there caring for the place. It would be a great place for dark sky viewing except we happened to be there on a full moon. There were still a lot of stars but the moon was so bright we could not see the Milky Way.
