The 2026 Rose Parade was a memorable New Year’s Day event, made even more dramatic by steady rain that fell throughout the morning. Despite the wet weather, the floats remained impressive, with intricate floral designs glistening as raindrops highlighted their colors and textures. Marching bands, equestrian units, and performers carried on with energy and enthusiasm, showing the resilience and spirit that define this iconic Pasadena tradition.

This was one of only 11 parades where it rained in the 137 year history. The last time we went was in 2002 and of course it was beautiful that year as is typical for the parade. We wore our rain gear and managed to stay pretty much dry. I hope to make it to attend another parade 24 years from now. :-)
