The trip down to Carlsbad was a fun ride.  We found a new way over to the coast on Highway 74. What a road for bikes... man was it a ball. And it only takes 35 minutes to get to it. I didn't have the camera out as we crossed over the mountains but the views and ride were spectacular. Guess that means I'll have to do it again to get some photos. There is a restaurant at the top also with seating on the roof so you can look out over the valley below. We drove through San Juan Capistrano (home of the swallows), to San Clemente (home of Richard (I am not a crook) Nixon) to Carlsbad. San Juan Capistrano looks like it has the most promise for exploring of any of them and we didn't stop. Oh well next time.

On the way home we went from 82 degrees at the beach to a bit cooler in the mountains to we are guesitmating 100 degrees in the Temecula Valley and it cooled down to low 90's in Chino and Corona. Then at home it was 84 degrees. We got home around 5 and I guess we hit mid 90's here in Upland.
